Wedding Trends for 2018

Marble & Copper
Step aside, gold and silver — copper has been having a serious moment in the wedding world (and it’s not ending anytime soon). A warmer version of brass, yet a bit more saturated than rose gold, copper-inspired hues make a stylish accent to any wedding color palette. It blends perfectly with trending warm tones, like blush and coral, but also looks just as chic when balancing out cool grays and marble whites. Get inspired by these adorable copper-inspired wedding accents and decor.

Marble wedding styling has been incredibly popular for a while now, and, the trend appears to be going absolutely nowhere. Marble patterns continues to filter into many different wedding styling elements, from wedding cakes to invitations and even place cards too.

Geometric Shapes
tired of flower patterns? Don’t want to have a pastel-colored wedding? Choose geometric shapes for your big day design! These cool shapes attract attention and bright colors raise your mood. Have a look at some ideas: geometric garlands, favors and table decorations in bright colors will make your guests happy and the atmosphere cheerful. Save the dates, invitations, tablecloths and tableware – don’t hesitate to use them in your décor! Don’t forget about your own look: a geometric dress, make up with this theme, a boutonniere and a tie – enjoyable and colorful! To crown it all, order a pretty geometric cake and let your wedding be the most original in the world!

Move over cupcake and macaron towers it's now time for wedding donuts to shine! In addition to your wedding cake, in lieu of a cake or even placed on the cake, donuts are a fun and modern, not to mention tasty trend for the big day. Add them to a plain cake or stack em' up high for a real wow factor.

3D Florals
2018 brings in a whole new season of wedding dresses and we’re seeing a lot of romantic flowers adorning otherwise fairly minimal gowns and veils. For inspiration, look to Viktor & Rolf or Oscar de la Renta, who have nailed the whimsical feel perfectly.

Transparent Elements
Wedding Planner & Blogger, Charley at London Bride (, tells us 2018 will see a surge in see-through settings and décor. ‘Everything from the venues themselves think Glasshouses, or light bright spaces with full windows to Perspex hanging seating plans, tablescapes featuring an abundance of glass details with printed goods on semi-transparent paper. Great for modern and minimalist couples who like clean lines and Scandi vibes’.

New Food
Modern couples are more often opting out of the traditional 3-course set menu for their wedding breakfast. Instead, choosing food they love – from big sharing plates to food vans and portable pizza ovens, wedding food is definitely seeing a change. For 2018 we predict more alternative options like Mexican, Japanese and Peruvian inspired cuisine – with tacos, sushi and ceviche on the menu.

Mobile bars
From vintage camper vans to refurbished horse boxes, we’re seeing plenty of quirky options for mobile bars in 2018. Combine that with the recently popularity of prosecco, craft beers and gin bars at weddings, and you have yourself one hell of a party!

Light boxes
Light boxes are big in home décor at the moment, and we think they make the perfect finishing touch to wedding decorations too! Use them to spell your new married names, your wedding dates, or handy instructions like ‘Bar this way’ or ‘Please sign the guest book here’. Thanks to the fact that they light up, light boxes work especially well at evening receptions.
